Old Folks Home
On the 15th of October 2004, we sign a 5 year rental contract for an old 6 bedroom house to take care of widows. The money to pay the rent US$ 5,250.– is being donated by a group called VWAP (Vacation With A Purpose), started and coordinated by Mr. Dave Sutherland from Hong Kong. After a few weeks renovating the roof, bathroom and kitchen, after painting all bedrooms, we begin to furnish bedrooms & kitchen, also donated by the VWAP group.
Slowly we take in widows 1 by 1, just to get the experience of how to take good care of the elderly.
All 6 rooms are now occupied, so the beginning of 2007 we have started to prepare a definite place for our widows. After buying a piece of land, we started building two rooms from March 2007 on and will continue building two by two rooms in the next two years. You can see the progress of our widow’s home.
