Food packages
Every two weeks 20 food packages containing rice, beans, dried fish, washing powder, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste etc. are made and distributed in, as far as we are informed, the poorest area of Singaraja. The children, who sometimes grew up in this part of the town, perform this task themselves. We want to stimulate their social consciousness using the motto: “to learn young = to do old”. The children prepare the food packages themselves and take them to the slums. Sometimes we take guests from abroad with us so they can also see this side of Bali. When we arrive, the packages are handed over and we ask the people how they are doing. In many cases additional items like powder milk and medicines are provided to comfort their needs. We do this when it concerns babies, old people & weak people.
